The industry wasn't

So we built it ourselves.
As a physician, I treated countless patients with melanated skin whose concerns were minimized, misunderstood, or dismissed. Inflammation left unaddressed. Barrier disruption overlooked. Discoloration treated as cosmetic — when it was always a predictable outcome of unresolved irritation.
Then it became personal. After surviving breast cancer, I discovered I carry a rare DNA repair mutation. Radiation damaged my skin barrier. A lifelong fragrance sensitivity I had experienced for years was repeatedly dismissed — when it was a physiologic response my body had been signaling all along.
